Westbrook Back In Post Season Play

Madison County's Jake Westbrook is back in post season play this time with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Atlanta Braves, who battle with St. Louis for the NL wild card spot, threw away what was a 10 game lead in late August to hand St. Louis the post season ticket.
Although being part of St. Louis' starting pitching rotation all season, Westbrook as of tonight, is not listed in the rotation against Philadelphia in the upcoming series. It was unannounced if he will be either used in relief or possibly left off the roster for the first round of the playoffs.

Prediction Time!

Madison County at Apalachee
I'm going to go with an upset in this one. Raiders are due some good luck and Trae Burton will have a big night. Madison County by 6

Mississippi State at Georgia
Gonna be a close game. Key to a win will be if Georgia can stop the running game. Georgia's home and I pick them to win in a close one by 3

Clemson at Virginia Tech
Two top 15 teams face each other in an ACC game. This should be the Tigers last hard one for a little while. The Tigers have played two top 12 teams in the past two weeks and have got Tiger fans like me excited but scared to show it. Can they pull off a third win over a highly ranked team? This one's on the road and a night game. Another close one and I hate to predict against my Tigers but Tech with home field advantage might pull this one off. Tech by 4. Hope I'm wrong again this week.

Clemson at #13

After the Tigers' wins over ranked Auburn and Florida State the past two weeks, I am almost to the point of thinking in my mind that Clemson's success is not a fluke. I admit that my predictions of the past two weeks have had the Tigers as the underdog and due to the fact that the Tigers are on the road at 11th ranked Virginia Tech this Saturday, I still have my Tigers listed as the underdog. A win over Tech on Saturday might have me fully convinced that Clemson's season isn't a fluke. I won't be too upset if the Tigers lose however because 2 out of 3 wins of teams ranked in the top 15 isn't bad! A Tiger win on Saturday could boost Clemson into the top 10 in Monday's polls but I'll keep my excitement to a low level because I don't want to jump ahead of things. I still need a Tiger win on Saturday to help me over the hump and help me to believe that this team is for real. Go Tigers!!

Courageous movie opens Friday

Sherwood Baptist Church's (Albany, Georgia) fourth movie will open this Friday. Courageous is a movie about fathers and their relationships with their kids written and produced by Alex and Stephen Kendricks of Sherwood and former Athens residents. In the past years Sherwood Baptist Church has produced movies such as Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof and now Courageous. All of their movies were filmed in Albany, Georgia in different locations including a sports park that the church owns on the outer limits of town. All of the Sherwood produced movies were made up of their church people as well as some town residents. Kirk Cameron was the only professional actor used in any of their four movies. Cameron played Caleb a fireman in the Fireproof movie. For more information on this movie visit http://www.courageousthemovie.com/

Me with Ken Bevel of Fireproof. Bevel is also in the Courageous Movie
