Weekend Predictions

Clemson at 7-0 returns home to play North Carolina. At this point in the season, every game is dangeous. Clemson is known for falling apart after strong starts and everyone media outlet is expecting them to fall any day. The BCS rankings came out Sunday and have Clemson listed at number 7. I try not to get too excited because I don't want to jinx anything. North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and South Carolina stand in the way of a perfect season for Clemson. One day at a time. Like coach Dabo Swinney said, "Any team on our schedule can be beat and any team on our schedule can beat us on any given day."
Since Saturday's game is in the valley, I'll say Clemson by 5. If the Tigers' defense don't play any better than last week-our perfect season will end Saturday.

Georgia is idle this week. The Dawgs return to action in two weeks facing a struggling Florida team. I still think Georgia is on the weak side of the SEC and should end up winning that side. South Carolina without Lattimore, will fold and UGA will head to the Dome to play Alabama in the title game.
Georgia over Florida by 13.

Madison County travels to Athens to face Clarke Central. This one will be ugly. The Raiders coming off a come from behind win over 1-7 Rockdale will hit a brick wall this Friday.
Clarke Central by 23

Prediction Time

Ok here are my picks for the week....
Clemson's quarterback Tajh Boyd will return this week against Maryland after taking a nasty blow in last week's win over Boston College. Boyd left early in the second half. So with that said, I'll pick Clemson to win by 15 over Maryland. It's still a scary game because this is one of those teams that can slip up and ruin your perfect season. Fingers crossed.

Georgia vs Vandy
I'll go ahead and make some of my friends mad but Georgia has another easy team to play this week. Last week's game with the Vols was pretty boring and not too impressive. I hear this all the time from my friends when they say the ACC is weak. Well the Dogs should know how that feels because their side of the SEC is terrible. South Carolina is about the only team that seems to be tough-depending on what week it is. Should the Gamecocks slip up and lose another conference game, Georgia will be in the drivers seat because they don't have anyone left to play that shows any threat. Vandy-weak, Florida lost their QB and have been lifeless the past few weeks and Kentucky-well I'll let you fill in the blank on them. Consider yourself lucky if you wear the red & black-lucky that you are not on the other side of the conference. 20 points wouldn't cut it.
Georgia over Vandy by 23.

Madison County vs Rockdale
The Red Raiders are hoping to rebound and try to grab one more win before facing those hated teams from Athens the next two weeks. Rockdale stands in the way of the Red Raiders' hopes of posting win number 2. Trae Burton continues to be Madison County's main threat but it might not be enough again this week.
Rockdale wins by 12.

Prediction Time!

Madison County at Apalachee
I'm going to go with an upset in this one. Raiders are due some good luck and Trae Burton will have a big night. Madison County by 6

Mississippi State at Georgia
Gonna be a close game. Key to a win will be if Georgia can stop the running game. Georgia's home and I pick them to win in a close one by 3

Clemson at Virginia Tech
Two top 15 teams face each other in an ACC game. This should be the Tigers last hard one for a little while. The Tigers have played two top 12 teams in the past two weeks and have got Tiger fans like me excited but scared to show it. Can they pull off a third win over a highly ranked team? This one's on the road and a night game. Another close one and I hate to predict against my Tigers but Tech with home field advantage might pull this one off. Tech by 4. Hope I'm wrong again this week.
